  • Getting Our Wiggle Wobbles Out!

    Funded Aug 7, 2024

Thank you for the Wiggle Wobble feet. My students have been enjoying them. They are one of their first choices in seating when they choose a place to sit.

Many of my students have ADHD. The chairs allow them to get the movement out they need without being disruptive. Some of my students use the feet on their chairs in the general education classroom. The teachers have been very happy with how much it has help them.

I have one particular student that sits with the feet on his chair successfully. We have tried numerous different types of chairs with him. He moves around so much every chair we have used he has fell out of. These work for him!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Campbell

  • A Gathering Place

    Funded Aug 12, 2023

Thank you for the new rug and magnetic tiles. My students love both. They were very excited to see both when they arrived.

They have had such a good time building and designing with the new tiles. They are in a hurry to finish their work to get a chance to play with the magnetic tiles. It has been a big motivator for them.

They are also enjoying the rug. They were so excited that we all fit on the rug. Our old one was too little for all of them to sit on it. They are enjoying laying on the nice clean rug and practicing their reading and using their surf desk on it.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Campbell

  • Listening and Learning

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you for the new headphones. My students are thrilled to have their own set of headphones and the ones that have already had their own are happy to no longer have to drag them across the building to my classroom.

The students favorite part is the microphone. They have never had headphones with them before. They have been telling their friends all about them.

We just finished our Dyslexia screening on the computer. It made it so much easier for the students to listen to the instructions and to be able to record their answers in a loud classroom.

It also helped me as a teacher to grade the testing . The microphone made it so much clearer.”

    With gratitude,

  • Sensory Play!

    Funded Mar 22, 2023

Thank you so much for the sand table and sand. I think it is their favorite item in the whole sensory room!

When we enter the room it's the first place they go. They love to feel the sand running through their fingers. The younger ones love to hide stuff in it and try to find it later. It is a great calming activity when the students need some down time.

The kids were so excited when they saw the boxes arrive. They could not wait for the table to be put together. They love the moon sand, and I love that it is not messy like regular sand.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Campbell

  • Flexible Seating For All!

    Funded Nov 5, 2022

Thank you for the rug and desk. My students are so proud of the rug. We now have a rug just like all the other classes and we all fit. Before are rug was very small and not enough room for all of us. Some had to sit on the floor.

The kids absolutely love the floor desk. It is their favorite place to sit during math. They work hard when they are sitting somewhere they like.

The kids have been telling kids in other classes about their stuff. I have kids in other classes asking if they can come to my class so they can use our new stuff.”

    With gratitude,

  • Learning to Read is Magical!

    Funded Feb 8, 2022

Thank you for donating to our class. The students are all enjoying the new reading materials.

We have started small reading groups. This is new for us. We never had enough books for everyone to have their own. The sight word books reading level is low enough for my special education students to read. They are so excited they have books they can read.

My students love practicing with their friends. So far the favorites are the non fiction books. They particular like ones about science. We just finished Leaves and the kids had a great discussion about different types of leaves.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Campbell

Most readers are too difficult for my students to read. Most of my students have disabilities in reading. We have one set of these readers. They like to use them, because they are something they can read and feel successful. We use these books in small groups to practice improving our reading skills. This allows us to have a book for each student to read in the group. We now have one set of books so we have to share the book and we do not have a whole set. They were gave to me from another teacher that no longer needed them. I have selected Fiction and Non-Fiction sets to keep my students interest. I have also chose two levels of books. This will allow for the differentiated instruction.
