Health & physical education is a class most young students enjoy. I strive to create a stimulating atmosphere where my students can develop a healthy relationship with being physically active, while working with others at a very young age. Each piece of physical education equipment I have chosen will help to continue to develop this atmosphere. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has taken some of our freedoms away by not allowing the students to experience collaborative play. I want to reinforce playing with one another and give students back their ability to learn with their classmates. When using the team building tarp, the running mat, tetherball tennis, even the toss and catch paddles they will be developing and learning critical communication skills that so many of my students have been missing. My goal as a health and physical education teacher, is to aide in creating lifelong health and wellness skills for my students while they collaborate with each other. I want my students to leave my gym feeling good about who they are, but excited to improve themselves and those around them, mentally and physically. I want them to be confident in their abilities to create a healthy life for themselves now AND their future families in their adult lives. By donating to my project, you will be helping me promote lifelong health and wellness in my students while they collaborate with their classmates. My students will be able to use these materials to engage in meaningful, thought-out lessons that allow them to develop teamwork and communication skills that will follow them into their bright futures. After all, teamwork really does make the dream work!
