  • Traveling the World Using Atlases and a Globe

    Funded Aug 12, 2023

Thank you so very much for the generous contribution! My students and I feel extremely blessed to have generous donors who believe in encouraging and supporting education. We can’t wait to receive and most importantly utilize these resources. Your generosity and passion for helping teachers and students will be something my students and I won’t forget. With the world and the things these young students have survived, I am so thankful to be able to welcome them into my classroom with loving arms and new atlases and technology that will improve their learning for years to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Miller

    Funded Nov 5, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous contribution! I am thankful I get to impact the lives of my students every day and now you have become a part of that as well. We are so excited to read and learn using our new books. We appreciate you more than you know!”

  • Scientific Exploration and Global Conquest Through Technology

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

My class and I are extremely grateful for the generous donation to our classroom. We have loved getting to use our new items. I have incorporated the Delta Science Readers as an extra resource to go along with the chapters in our Science text book. They enjoy the pictures and in-depth information shared in each book. They are able to make connections between the Delta Readers and our Science text book. Thus, growing their knowledge and understanding of different science topics such as human anatomy, weather, and outer space.

The flexible seats are used every day! My students have thoroughly enjoyed getting an opportunity to sit comfortably while working on school work or reading a book. The seats have been a great motivator for good behavior and sharing with others.

The Oculus has been the biggest hit! Many of my students have never used a VR headset before. It has been such a joy to watch them experience it for the first time. We have been able to learn, interact, and explore the world around us. Recently, we traveled to Peru and explored Machu Picchu. We learned about the history and culture of the people who once lived there. The Oculus has helped increase student engagement, collaboration, and peer to peer encouragement. I can't wait to continue to use these items and share these experiences year after year with each new class!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Miller

The Oculus Quest 2 Virtual Reality (VR) Headsets will allow my students to take virtual field trips. These field trips may include exploring the Amazon Rainforest and its rich biodiversity, as well as Zion National Park to learn about the effects of weathering and erosion. The National Geographic VR app allows the students to interact with different cultures, walk the hallways of museums, travel into space and visit places they may never see otherwise. The possibility of having the world at their fingertips will propel my students out of the fear of Covid and shift their focus to the future where they see themselves as astronauts, biologists, archaeologists, teachers, conservationists, or the Nobel Prize Winner that eliminates Covid. The Delta Science Readers will be used to emphasize 5th grade science topics. The students will be able to read the books while using the Flex-Space Comfy Floor Seats. Imagine sitting in your class reading about "You & Your Body", "Weather Forecasting" and the "Solar System" then being transported through various weather systems before you feel weightless as you are catapulted into the unknowns of outer space.
