Many of my students are virtual learners. They use my classroom as a place where they can come for help and monitoring. My rooms needs to feel unique and non-traditional because that is a direct reflection of my unique and non-traditional students. Modern students are looking for something outside of the expected and normal. I challenge my students to take control of their learning and to take it in a direction that is individual to their learning style and needs. I believe one way to encourage that is to give them ergonomic and alternative seating options instead of asking them to be different while in a classroom that may look anything but different. Out-of-the-box learning requires an out-of-the-box atmosphere.
