Science Safety and Classroom Fun
Funded Aug 14, 2023Your donations to Science Safety and Classroom Fun have, in fact, made in impact in our classroom. Our classroom had many items to complete experiments. However, there were very few Science tools. Teaching students about tools used in Science experiments is more effective when they can see and use the tools.
With our chemical reaction experiment, we had opportunity to use our Safety Goggles and talk specifically about why it is important to wear them. We have learned how to use our hand lenses correctly when performing scratch tests on rocks to determine hardness. Having the tools opened doors for us to do experiments with nearly every lesson giving us a more hands on approach to learning about physical and chemical properties. We are just beginning. We will continue to conduct experiments throughout the year, and the tools will be used repeatedly.
Experiments can be messy. We included cleaning supplies and use them daily. The biggest help has been the vacuum, and the students beg to use it. So, we are learning life skills in the midst of Science.
Thank you for your generosity to our classroom.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Hall
