Our scholars are significantly behind on reading levels. We need to provide as many opportunities for them to get excited about reading. We have very few books in our Reading Classroom, and we need to fill our empty bookshelves. I always tell my students that reading is the most important thing that they do in school, and being a good reader is necessary to be successful in life. Our scholars are primarily low income Hispanics so they currently have little access to common English literature. I hope to provide them with many books to read!
