This project will give students an outlet for expressing their feelings while also learning some basics of music such as pitch, tempo, dynamics, etc. Children love music and love to play instruments. Students that may be struggling with the structure of a regular classroom can often find success in a music environment where expectations are geared more to the whole child. These instruments can also provide opportunities for performance in different settings, both individual and as a group. Many of our special needs students can participate with the whole group using these types of instruments when they struggle to be on the same level in the regular classroom.
