  • Flexible Seating With a Standing Desk

My request is for a standing desk for two. This will allow my students to work as a team while also allowing them to get out of their seats and onto their feet. Standing at a desks has been shown to promote physical fitness by burning more calories than sitting all day. This can be important during COVID because obesity has been shown to be a risk factor. In addition, fifth graders have so much energy that some of them struggle with sitting in a desk all day. Fifth grade is also an age where social skills are developing. Having a desk for two will help them learn to work together and collaborate on projects.
