After a few years in another type of classroom, this is my first year back teaching this classroom after about five years. I’m building up my classroom task boxes. These help my students that need a manipulative type of lesson. I have students that cannot use a pencil and are nonverbal so having a type of manipulative or picture curriculum is excellent for these kiddos. I also have students who need lower-level science and social studies lessons; most of these students are in the 6th and 8th grades but have a PreK to 1st-grade reading level. I do not have any curriculum for these students and have to buy from other places to get lessons at their level. I have bought most off of Teacher pay Teachers. Due to the issue of students that cannot read or are deficient in reading, students constantly use headphones to have lessons read to them. Headphone also helps students read a book online that might be above their level, but they want to read what their peer is reading. Students with disabilities have a hard time staying organized, and I ordered items to help manage each student’s lessons. I also chose Items that will help sanitize items in the classroom. My students are not great with hygiene, and we need extra precautions to keep germs at a minimum.
