As a first-year teacher, I'm slowly collecting supplies that will help my classroom be as engaging as possible for my students. My school only has one printer between all elementary classes and it only prints in black and white (I also can't print to it wirelessly which adds precious minutes to my already packed schedule!). There are so many things that, if printed in color, would help my students better connect to the content they're studying and make our classroom more beautiful! In addition to materials printed in color creating a more lively and impactful learning experience, they will also help my students with special needs and my English Language Learners organize and comprehend written information. Using color in strategic ways (such as color-coding) is one of the most most basic but effective things I can do to create visual connections to written content. Having a wireless, color printer in our classroom would help me so much as a first-year teacher. Most importantly, I know my students will greatly benefit from seeing their studies come to life in color!
