Funded May 8, 2024Thank you so much for donating to our classroom garden. We have used the vegetable seeds to start growing our garden for summer to harvest in the fall. We have been able to grow lots of vegetables such as cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, different fruits such as strawberries, and watermelon and even a few herbs such as basil, dill and cilantro. We have even grown several different types of daisies which were beautiful! The mini greenhouse has been a great help by helping the seeds to sprout and ready to go into our vertical raised garden beds. The children love using the garden tools and learning about what each one is and its purpose. The students learned how to harvest the foods, wash them and use them in a simple recipe such as a salad. The students were able to taste the fruits and vegetables, and they all had a different outlook. Some students only liked the tomatoes while others
only enjoyed the fruit. Most importantly, the students had fun and tried different foods, they are also eager to show their parents what they have learned and to try growing a garden at home!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Hood
