I love to read books as a class. I have found that this is when I can best make literature come alive for children. I've been able to get the most reluctant reader on the edge of their seat, waiting for more. This is a much better experience if every kid has their own book. They can hear how I read a book, with expression and excitement, and apply that to their own reading. Hearing a fluent reader and seeing the words on the page helps increase the reading ability of students. With more books, I can make sure every one of my students has their own copy to follow along with. They can be following along at home as I Zoom with them. The impact of books on children is immeasurable.
