Learning and teaching during the pandemic definitely changed students' and teachers' ways of thinking about school. My project focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math-STEAM. I am fortunate to have science and math materials. Items in this project will supply my technology, engineering and art. This will impact my students by encouraging project based learning, critical thinking, questioning and problem solving. An example of a STEAM project would be creating code (programming) for a robot to move with intent and purpose. This will allow the continuation of technology as a learning tool while at the same time bringing students together in small groups to work, a situation in which they enjoy and thrive! I would also like to build more art in our STEAM activities to give students from our rural area more experiences and exposure to different types of art. For instance, students would study and create origami, sculpture, or use oil pastels as a medium. Items purchased for the project would make up STEAM kits with different STEAM activities that student groups could study, create and complete. These kits would greatly enhance the standards being taught in our classroom. Thank you for your support.
