Providing Access to Combat Period Poverty

Funded May 30, 2024

My students were able to use the products to learn how to care for their growing bodies. During our "Hygiene Talk," the girls were able to ask questions about caring for themselves, application, and disposal. When my students saw the materials some were bashful about the conversation that we were having. However, after reassuring them that every woman goes through this and that with the supplies provided , every classroom was fully stocked, they were relieved.

The next steps included ensuring that the students had the appropriate language and words to ask for help. This project allowed us to be of assistance to these students during their time of need, without the stigma of shame. Our students felt loved and supported as they began their journey into womanhood.”

With gratitude,
