Flight Simulator

Funded Feb 18, 2022

We received our flight simulator gift in March of 2022 and after a few software delays, we were finally operational by April 2022. Despite our slow start, the ability to demonstrate knowledge of the forces of flight, read instruments and parlay the information into flight knowledge has completely transformed how the UAS/Aviation class is taught at our school.

Thanks to the donation and the impact on learning, this class will now be integrated into a technology pathway allowing for students to earn specific certifications before they graduate from high school. Our local aviation museum is working with our students to use the simulator to control particular factors of flight and further expand what we initially thought we could do with the technology.

Finally, thanks to the generous donors who supported my classroom and my students, the impact was acknowledged within our school. We will now be able to purchase an additional simulator with funds from an educational technology grant. Without your initial support we would not have been able to demonstrate how students could take 'book knowledge' and directly apply it to the field of aviation in a matter of days. My students express, daily, how grateful they are to have this opportunity.”

With gratitude,

Ms. Minor
