  • Organization Station

    Funded Aug 15, 2023

Thank you for funding Organization Station! Our classroom center materials and manipulatives will be easy to view through the plastic storage containers. The cubbies will provide extra storage as well for new STEM activities. It will be so nice to have a place for everything instead of having to store some materials on the floor for lack of storage.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Poe

  • Seats for My Sweets 2.0

    Funded Nov 2, 2022

Thank you for funding my project, Seats for My Sweets 2.0! My first graders are going to be so happy to have more wobble chairs to use and to have a colorful, comfortable rug to sit on during floor time. I’m so excited to share the good news with them. We appreciate your generosity and support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Poe

  • Seats for My Sweets

    Funded Feb 8, 2022

Thank you so much for funding my project "Seats for My Sweets". The donation of several types of flexible seating for my first grade classroom has been greatly appreciated and has made a world of difference in creating a more comfortable learning environment.

The flexible seating is used daily during a variety of activities. The students excitedly walk in the classroom asking what group gets a turn with the wobble chairs for the day. They love getting to pick a seat cushion to sit on during circle time and flashlight reading. Reading center time is more cozy with a comfy seat to sit on while reading a book.

Thank you again for your generous donation! It makes me very happy to have engaged students and be able to meet their needs with flexible seating.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Poe

I believe flexible seating is important amid the pandemic because many students have an even more difficult time sitting and focusing during classroom instruction. Students out of a classroom setting for a long time might not have had the routine and structure at home that a classroom provides during the day. I want to offer my students different seating choices because I want them to be able to move and wiggle if necessary. I want them to feel comfortable in whatever kind of seat best stimulates their learning and keeps them engaged.
