Eighteen wonderful, creative little minds need constant stimulation in a safe, supplied and warm environment for learning. Currently, we can provide the safe and warm environment but the "supplied" aspect is difficult to achieve with limited budget and exhausted resources. Manipulatives, hands on learning tools/toys/touch and play resources, have run thin in our classroom and the ones we have cannot stimulate the same interest day after day. Children need a variety of choices in order to maintain excitement in learning and seeing a child unexcited about the impending activity is something a teacher never wants to see. By gaining a variety of new tools/resources, such as UNIH Rock Toys, Edx Rainbow Pebbles and Obuby Water Magic Drawing Mat, my classroom will be able to provide a fresh and exciting environment each day. These will be hands on tools for each little carpenter. These manipulatives will create interest, motivation and excitement about learning letters and numbers. By using these manipulatives, students will build confidence as they learn to enjoy math and beginning reading skills. Please consider funding this project and helping my students develop a deeper understanding of numbers and letters and a fresh exciting place to learn and grow. A stale classroom is something I will not have and your assistance with the resources necessary to provide this environment won't just reach the children in my class but also the children that will follow behind them for years to come.
