  • Listening Centers for Learning to Read!

    Funded Nov 5, 2022

    The "Listening Centers for Learning to Read!" grant materials have greatly impacted my students! Listening to their favorite books on CD and following along with the book is building their sight words and vocabulary. At the same time it is building their confidence in becoming independent readers too! This center has helped me support my EL students as well. I was able to purchase books in English and in Spanish for them compare the similarities and differences in our languages.

  • Literacy Tools for Littles: Create Confident Readers and Writers!

Literacy tools for my classroom with help engage my students in hands on learning, building fine motor skills, and comprehension. Due to Covid-19, my students have become "screen babies". Most of their parents are working from home and needed them to be occupied and technology was the answer. While technology is a great tool, it does not promote or strengthen their ability to build their literacy skills. The literacy materials requested will allow students to explore, learn, and grow through hands-on, interactive, and engaging activities. These resources will be used in whole group, small group, and literacy learning centers. The academic skills that can be taught using these tools are endless.
