My project includes a variety of novels, phonics materials, educational books, historical fiction, and culturally diverse materials to continue to encourage my students to read and to meet them where they currently are. I have a variety of reading levels in my room and this project would help me better equip them and teach them the skills they need. The novels and sets of books will be used in my reading intervention groups. We will utilize the books in small groups and centers. We also choose one novel to read as a whole class. We will read "The Little House on The Praire" book together as it goes with our current reading series and teaches historical fiction. The phonics workbooks and other phonics materials will be used with students who need additional assistance with phonics and basic reading skills. The clipboards and chart paper will be used during our small groups. The expo marker will be used for practicing phonics on whiteboards. I will laminate different phonics activities with the pouches. I also want to create a special reading place for the students to go which is why I want the tent and pillows. The students will visit the reading area to read for enjoyment.
