One of the most popular project choices in our school STEM Lab is Stop Motion movie making. Students use iPads to take pictures and learn to edit their movies by adding in voice-overs, sound effects, music, titles, and captions. Students can also use a green screen to edit in their own backdrops for their movie. I also offer Stop Motion classes after school and these classes always fills up quickly. Stop Motion helps students learn the technology of making a movie, but it also integrates story telling, writing and language skills. These materials will provide more students the opportunity to practice the process of making a stop motion movie. It requires time management, planning, writing on a story board, using the technology app to take pictures and edit. Students love using Lego people and bricks to create their movies. Not only can students use the materials to create their own stories, but they can also use them to share their learning in other subject areas. What a fun way to show learning of a specific topic!
