I want to provide a classroom library for my students who read below grade level. This will allow me to provide them access to grade level curriculum and concepts that they can understand at their own pace, in texts that are meaningful and exciting to them! In light of the pandemic, many students across the country have struggled and the reading gap has widened. Having a library full of books that interest all levels of readers, will help to continue to foster the love of reading I see in my students everyday. A beautiful and expansive classroom library will allow all of my students to access literature and grade level content at their own unique independent reading levels! To help my students learn amid the pandemic we need more books. My current 5th grade classroom does not have many chapter books to support the growing needs of my classroom. My students have a wide range of reading abilities and interests that my current classroom library is lacking to provide them in order to continue to thrive as readers! As a result of having more books in our classroom, my students will continue to enjoy reading and as their teacher I will be able to help them grow as readers!
