In order for students to become successful readers, they need to have a solid foundation in phonemic awareness, phonics and vocabulary. The Fundations Program was built on science and research for how children learn these best. Unfortunately my school was only able to purchase 5 student kits for my classroom. With 22 students in class and only 5 magnetic boards/tiles provided, it is difficult to teach the program the way it was intended to be taught. Especially through pandemic-impacted learning. Providing each student with their own set of materials will give them the daily hands on practice needed to build their skill set and become successful readers. I want my students to have all the necessary tools to be successful not only in the classroom but in life. My students and I thank you for any help you are able to give.
