The past 2 years of dealing with Covid 19 has been stressful for teachers, parents, and students. I am striving to create a stress-free and relaxed learning environment in my classroom. My students enjoy learning in various ways. They spend time at a desk, they lie on the floor, they enjoy multi-sensory activities both indoors and outdoors, and they lounge and read independently.
My students excel in their learning endeavors when they are relaxed. The ability to move around and engage in hands-on learning activities are of great benefit to students with special needs. Flexible, comfortable seating allows my students to feel at ease when reading or completing an assignment. The option to not sit at a traditional desk and chair is relieving to many special needs students.
