Memories That Last a Lifetime

Help me give my students lasting memories from their Kindergarten year. I make each student a memory book and these colored paper and page protectors would help make each book unique and special.

  • Learning How To Take Care Of Our Supplies

    Funded Oct 3, 2024

My students have enjoyed these books so much. They help keep each other accountable for taking care of the supplies. If a glue lid is left off they hurry to help put it on they do not want the glue to "go on strike!"

These books have been read on the learning rug and discussed. My students who need extra redirecting have learned responsibility from these books. When we have book time they loved to get a partner and "read" each other these books.

I love how these books also included how to play responsibly on the playground equipment.

Thank you for supporting my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shattuck

  • Wiggles and Giggles; Wobble and Work

    Funded Nov 2, 2022

My students have enjoyed the wobble stools tremendously. They have made such a different for many of my students what had a hard time sitting in a chair. It gives them the movement they need to focus on their work.

The floor desk is a favorite for everyone. It has helped with someone needed to move away from distractions at the tables in order to focus.

The chair bands and wobble cushions has been used by not only students in my class but in other kindergarten classes when needed.

I love how the flexible seating has helped give each student the learning environment they need to be successful.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shattuck

  • Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

    Funded Sep 18, 2023

I can not even begin to describe the community my classroom became last year. Your donations allowed my class to have floor puzzles and many board games as well as emotion dots.

They learned to work together to put the puzzles together. This was not a skill they had at the beginning of the year. They learned that they could do small easy puzzles alone but if they worked together they could put together complicated large floor puzzles. They had to work as a team to accomplish them.

The board games allowed them to gain many skills. They learned sharing and taking turns. They had to build up their stamina in waiting. They learned that in order to complete a game they had to take turns. They also worked on the skill of losing. Many students had not learned how to lose. This was hard but with practice they learned to be happy for others when they won.

The emotion spots were very helpful on days that a few students were just feeling sad or stressed. Some students were not sure how to express their emotions. They learned it was ok to have big emotions. Some days I even needed to sit one on my desk to show that I was feeling a little sad and that was ok. They learned how to comfort the others and make sure to include them during play time.

These life skills changed my students and allowed them to make wonderful memories with their classmates.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shattuck

  • Organization Shortens the Road to a Goal!

    Funded Feb 8, 2022

Thank you so much for you donation to my classroom, my current students and those I will have in the future. It was like I was handing out candy when I wheeled in our new cubby unit. The kids just squealed with delight.

I quickly got it filled with learning center materials, intervention materials an a few fun things for those dreaded rainy days and indoor recess.

They have utilized it daily. Things have been so organized and the kids are excited to work and master what is in their own box so they can get new items added. They ask each morning if they are going to get to have cubby time that day.

It has made a huge impact on my class. I am seeing so many of them showing more organizational skills with their daily work and responsivities of taking care of items.

I thank you for the gift from the bottom of my heart.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shattuck

Each morning as my students arrive some will eat breakfast, some chose not to and others have eaten at home. One thing that is the same, they enter our classroom ready to learn. With this storage unit students will have the freedom to select different activities that will be on their level where they can grown and develop their skills. It will promote independence and choice for the students. Structure in our classroom will allow students to repair and gain what we lost academically, socially and emotionally through this pandemic. Morning bins will get students excited to learn and engaged before class even begins and will keep hands and minds busy. In addition to organizing materials a cubby system will promote student responsibility in a learning environment.
