My students are very smart fifth graders who are excited and curious to learn about science. Fifth grade is the first year in which they are departmentalized. My students are very excited to actually have a science classroom where they can learn and explore. My goal is to introduce them to literature about science by introducing each standard with a read-along book. I want my students to be excited and interested in all aspects of science. I believe since the pandemic and distance learning my students have not been exposed to much science. I am hoping to introduce them to the wonderful world of science. One of my favorite ways to address a new standard while also inspiring students is through read-aloud books. I am asking for Science books that introduce Science topics to my students at the beginning of each new lesson. I am confident my students will benefit from listening and reading books about what we are learning in class using science literature other than just their science book. These books are mostly Accelerated Reader books. This will provide my students with many more opportunities to meet their Accelerated Reader goal as well as learn about science. In addition to the books I'm asking for, I would like to get new shelves and containers to store them in. This would make the books easily available to my students. Thank you for helping my students.
