These items will help me provide better speech and language therapy to my students. New play-based items will help motivate my students to practice their speech skills in a manner that is engaging and rewarding. Wordless picture books will help my students practice their ability to use new vocabulary, describe scenes, and create grammatically correct sentences. Cooperative games will help my students practice their social skills and asking and answering "wh" questions (e.g. "Whose turn is it? What does that piece do? Where should we go next on the board?"). The storage materials will save us time in finding and preparing activities while also helping students take ownership of their speech goals by knowing what they are working on and which bin that tool or activity is in. The mirrors will help students see that their tongue is in the correct place to make good speech sounds! My students have worked so hard over the past couple of years, and I cannot wait to show them how we can use these fantastic new items to improve their speech and language skills.
