In the land of the littles, most of our learning comes through hands-on activities. Through my teaching experience, I have learned that interactive and engaging activities are when my students learn best. It is so fun to watch the faces of my students light up when there is something new in the classroom for them to explore. The materials that I have requested will give my students an opportunity to learn their numbers, shapes, colors, letters, sight words, and how to write things in an exciting way. For example, the Trace and Write Alphabet Center and Beginning Sounds Box will both be great to use each week while we learn the letter of the week and how to write it and learn the sound using visual phonics. One of the most important things that I try and teach within my classroom is problem-solving skills and independency. Another activity I have requested is multiple themes of floor puzzles. This is a great activity for my students to be able to figure out how pieces fit, take turns, work together, and even ask for help when they can’t figure it out. Puzzles provide an array of learning experiences for my students.
Due to the pandemic, having hands-on materials that are engaging and having flexible seating options are vital for the learning of my students. Since my students are so young, most of them have spent almost half of their lives living through a pandemic and not having the opportunities to get out and explore with their families. To help my students be able to get some energy out while at school, I have requested Bounce Chairs for my students to have the option to bounce and be active while completing work or activities.
