  • Listening to the Silenced

    Funded Aug 3, 2022

Thanks to your amazing contributions, my students will now have the opportunity to engage in and learn about ideas and perspectives which are otherwise not available to them. Developing new solutions and approaches to the problems our society faces requires students to step out of the restrictive confines of authoritarian propaganda which is endemic in our education system. It is time to give power to those who have been denied it for so long.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. ODonnell

  • Right to Clean Drinking Water

    Funded May 27, 2022

Words cannot describe the appreciation for the outpouring of generosity and support that we have received. It is wonderful to know what can be accomplished when people put their resources together for a common cause. You have just contributed to a healthier and happier student body for years to come. Thank you so very much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. ODonnell

  • Critical Literacy

    Funded Mar 4, 2022

This is really exciting! I appreciate this so much and it will bring a wealth of resources and information to my students which they would otherwise not have access to. At this time, it is so important that students have access to valuable primary sources which go beyond textbooks so they can develop a richer and more critical understanding of where we are and how we got here. I’m addition, they can also learn how to navigate so much of the misinformation and disinformation we see today. Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. ODonnell

This classroom project was brought to life by American Federation of Teachers and one other donor.
I work with my students often through handouts, but they never have the ability to actually "hold" books that are related to history, politics, economics, and society. I am working on building a classroom library which provides a variety of perspectives and a wealth of primary source material. My students will have the ability to "take out" books for further research at home. The readings from these books will also provide the basis for exciting and engaging classroom discussions. In Global History, resources are often limited, so this would provide a great boost!
