Today's Readers Can Be Tomorrow's Leaders!
Funded Sep 18, 2024Thank you so much for giving our English as a Second Language students something engaging and exciting to read. We received a large variety of books for students to choose from and they were excited to look through all of them. A lot of these Spanish books were the same ones their peers were reading in English so they were able to make connections with others and feel a sense of belonging.
In our classroom, students read independently for at least 15 minutes a day. They do so with a book of their choosing and this helped to broaden their choices and met a variety of student interests. Students at our school record their reading minutes and enter them into a program to win prizes and incentives on an individual, classroom and school level. Reading is a very important part of our school culture.
Our students thank you for your generosity and promise that your donations will help them reach their goals and foster a love of reading beyond their middle school years.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Rentko

Funded Jan 24, 2023Thank you so much for contributing to our positive behavior incentive. Students who follow daily behavioral expectations have the opportunity to earn points in all of their classes. They then can cash in these points every two weeks at the school store. Students have the opportunity to earn snacks, drinks, school supplies, gift cards, etc.
The students were especially excited to see that they recently had the opportunity to earn soccer balls, basketballs, and footballs as prizes. These items were a new addition to the store thanks for your generous contributions.
Our students do not get recess during the school day. They have a lot of energy to burn off at the end of the day. Some are into organized sports, but most of them like to play with friends at the park after school. They were able to get these balls from the store and use them to engage in physical activity and play. A lot of them talked about being excited to use them in the summer and were looking forward to being able to do that because of you!”

Funded Oct 19, 2022I cannot express my gratitude for your donations to help fund our Positive Behavior store. Your donations helped us purchase new and exciting items for the students to earn with their points. Our students are much more motivated to display the behavioral characteristics our school is looking for when they fins something they want to work towards. And your donations made this happen!
Many of our students are budding artists and your donations helped us to provide art supplies our students don't have the opportunity to get elsewhere. Sketch books and colored pencils were exciting to many students who want to be able to explore their artistic talents, both at home and at school.
Our students use computers on a daily now in school. Many are distracted when they are working on programs in class. The headphones we were able to purchase for the students help alleviate this problem. Thank you all again for helping fund this project.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Rentko
