My students will use the aquarium for math and for their emotional health. Having fish in the classroom improves the learning environment. Students will be engaged in math problems that focus on how much food their fish ear in a day or how the aquatic plants have grown in a week. The young students can count the fish, categorize them, and even make graphs about the fish. Classroom pets can improve mental health and relieve stress and anxiety, regulating breathing and heart rate. A classroom aquarium will help students calm during anxious moments and will even help them feel more at-ease. They will be more relaxed in the classroom and better able to learn with their class fish nearby. An aquarium of fish will give my students new and unique interactive learning opportunities and will help inspire and motivate them in their learning.
