We will use the vacuum and mop to learn simple janitorial skills for students seeking employment in environmental or cleaning services. My students are not afraid to have fun while cleaning, so it's not boring for them. In fact, it's empowering them to be independent. My students won't be afraid to be adults once they graduate. These skills easily transfer to home where parents can continue working on independent living skills in the home environment. I've had parents call me and thank me for helping them reinforce daily living skills such as cleaning and cooking in the school environment.

About my class
