Incorporating weight training into physical fitness is imperative to improving muscular strength, joint mobility, bone density, mental health, and self-esteem. In our school, having virtually no weight training equipment and limited space, smaller, space saving equipment is not only ideal but essential. The knowledge of weight training that I will be sharing with my students will not only be utilized at South Jordan Middle School during class but can be carried over to their own personal lives in their homes. During these unprecedented times with Covid-19 and the many times my students have been required to stay home and quarantine, the knowledge of strength training will help give them the tools and knowledge in another form of physical fitness. While social distancing weight training will improve their overall health and aid in their performance of team sports.
