My students dislike reading and don't have access at home to books or a desire to want to read outside of the classroom. However, I've increased the amount of graphic novels in my classroom this year, and I've seen a shift in students checking out books from my classroom library. They are even enjoying the task of reading. Adding these additional graphic novels will allow for my students to have different genres to choose from. I believe that there is a book out there for everyone! Most students have discovered it in graphic novels this year!
