I will use these materials to get students engaged in learning to read rhythms and music. The rhythm sticks will be used in early instructions as we learn how to read different notes and play them together as a class. We will use the boomwhackers in class as an opportunity to mix the rhythms we are learning with musical notes we are learning. We will set up ensemble groups in our classes with them and give every student the opportunity to play. The buckets and drums will be used in a percussion ensemble opportunity in class. We will use our knowledge of reading rhythms to play the buckets as drums giving the students the opportunity to play as a group. They will read different rhythms together and work to play as a group.
