  • New Math Tools

    Coincidentally, I am writing this over Thanksgiving break. Perhaps it was meant to be, because I am feeling particularly grateful for the blessings I have been given, One of those blessings has been this Donor's Choose project. I have been able to supplement my math classroom supplies with some fun, new geometry supplies.

    If you have ever used the old-timey compasses with one very pointy end (perfect for gouging into table-tops) and one slippery pencil end, then you know how nice it is to get these new ones! The protractors are also a nice upgrade from the flimsy plastic ones we had been using.

I teach math to my students, and the calculators and rulers we have are dated and in various states of disrepair. My students also seem to go through pencils like crazy. Having user-friendly, new calculators, pencils, and rulers available to each student in the classroom will give them all access to math tools they need to succeed and feel confident. I hope to have enough to be able to lend out calculators for learning from home, when needed. I have students who do not have access to a calculator outside of school.
