These supplies will aid my students to learn how to handle their sensory needs while working on their fine motor skills, social emotional needs, as well as life skills. The supplies ordered from Lakeshore will aid in these lessons by allowing students to improve on the small motor skills with the beads, the puzzles will allow students to problem solve, while learning how to identify their emotions. The dress frames and lacing sets will teach students how to assist in dressing themselves. Advantage of the balancing stones is to calm the over stimulated student through sensory touch. And the weighted lap buddy, cuddle ball and therapy swing will improve students’ social well-being. It will create normalcy to the classroom by creating a place that students will feel comfortable and excited to come to school. The need for a safe and secure classroom is very important to these students struggle with all the new protocols that have occurred over the last two years. My students are a sweet, fun, busy bunch of children who need to feel secure in a world that doesn't seem very secure to them.
