In my classroom, I make an effort to differentiate my students' activities for the day, whether it be more creative/hands-on projects or diving deeper into primary sources.
The products that I have selected will provide greater opportunities for students to take a more hands-on approach to their own learning. I create, from scratch, a lot of escape rooms for my students to complete. These take countless hours to create as well as physically put together. Nevertheless, my students love and enjoy them, and ask to do more throughout the year. The envelopes and tape will be used to create more escape rooms for my class, enough for 9 groups of 4 to use. The other art and school supplies will be used for student projects and basic necessities, like students forgetting their pencils at home.
I like to take my students out of the classroom into different environments to stimulate their learning. My school uses Apple TV in all of our classrooms, and me not having an Apple product makes transferring my computer, PowerPoints, videos, a lot more difficult. The iPad would be used for easier transferability to learning labs that we have at the school. The iPad will also allow students to analyze primary source documents in real time on the tv monitor for the rest of their classmates to see. I believe this will increase student involvement. Having the ability to use Apple Airplay with help logistically and also increase learning.
Lastly, using my laptop and connecting it to the projector makes it so I need more than one screen. The current monitor I am using is over 10-12 years old and often malfunctions, making showing things on the screen much more difficult. A new monitor will cause less interruptions to my class period when technology stops working.
