Phonics and phonemic awareness is important component to reading and writing and kindergartners learn best with hands-on materials that allow them to learn through “play.” Learning to read is one of the most important skills a student will ever learn. As students become more successful at reading, they learn to read to learn, which makes them lifelong learners. One of the best days a student ever has is the day they realize they can read!
