The future of our country is based upon the students today. The skills students need to be successful beyond high school have changed and we need to meet that change. One way in preparing for our students' future is giving them skills that will allow them to be life-long learners. Critical thinking to solve today's problems is forefront in the world we live in today. By preparing the students as early as possible, it becomes second nature and imbedded into their daily routine. One way to build those critical thinking skills is through coding and robotics. I believe using Sphero robots will help my students work on those critical thinking skills in a fun and engaging way. Students love working on solving puzzles and figuring out how things work. Sphero robots will open their minds to a world of coding and robotics in a challenging, yet creative way, that mimics real world situations and help them be 21st century learners and leaders. I am a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) specials teacher. So, I see all 800+ students at my school during the week. I would love to give these students current technology to learn coding and robotics to lead them to life-long learning.
