Booking It Even Further!
Funded Sep 13, 2022Thank you so much for providing funding for our class sets of novels. We're currently reading the very interesting novel "Agentes Secretos y el Mural de Picasso". Students learned have already learned so much about the Spanish civil war, Francisco Franco, and the spy trade.
Reading in my classroom is an essential part of how students aquire the Spanish language. By seeing words and phrases repeated, students can pick them up naturally and in a way that is more enjoyable than typical grammar drills and rote vocabulary memorization. It isn't hard to understand why the kids are loving these novels!
Since we are the only class in the school with these particular novels, the students in my classes have been so thrilled to read them. The students who particularly seem to be enjoying them and getting the most out of the novels are the students who have struggled in traditional grammar-heavy lessons. I'm beyond excited to see them actually enjoying reading.”

Funded Sep 12, 2022Thank you so much for providing funding for our class sets of novels. We've successfully read the very interesting story about the Mexican Day of the Dead during November. Students learned so many lessons about the holiday, including reverence for our ancestors, about the "Altar de Muertos", and even about some Mexican history.
