Since COVID, I've noticed my students need more interaction and engagement than ever. For their final project, they will be working in groups to dive deep into a social issue of their choice, choosing a book (what I'm asking for) that will help their understanding and research. They will add their ideas to their group, build a video which will house much of what's in a research paper, then participate in a panel discussion where they defend their solution to the class. These sets of books I have requested will be available to help all students have equal access to materials.
