Our emotionally disturbed and behavioral students struggle the most with motivation and proper social skills. All of the items that we have included in this project will be used to teach and improve social skills and provide positive reinforcement for our students when they reach their behavioral goals. In addition, it will help them to decompress and alleviate stress and anxiety levels when they become agitated and escalated. The TV and puzzles will be used to help build positive rapport with our students. As well as helping them learn important social skills and supporting their emotional well-being. We focus on mental health in our room to ensure that our students are having a positive mindset and functioning properly in the general education classroom with their mainstream peers. Our students are easily motivated by treats and drinks, the fridge will be used to keep those things from spoiling. We also have some economically disadvantaged students who we provide food to regularly. We currently have been able to provide them with non-perishable items such as granola bars, but we would like to also be able to provide these students with more substantial items. The fridge would make this possible.
