I'm so proud of the School Families social and emotional learning program that I lead, and I’d love to expand it and make the program even stronger. The pandemic took a big toll on teens by stripping them of many opportunities to connect with peers, build friendships, and elevate social skills. By providing us with new and higher-quality equipment we can give our students fun challenges to help them foster relationships with their peers, learn through physical activity, and put their competitive natures to work! Yard games, athletic challenges, creative competitions, and other team-building activities will take place every Friday, coming to a pinnacle with Family Olympic field games. We especially need a high-quality microphone and speaker system so that our whole community can hear instructions outdoors.
