My students often need to be retaught the same concepts many times over when compared to their peers. Loss of any learning time due to Covid, or for any reason, is devastating for kids who need lots and lots of repetition! It becomes imperative that lessons be presented in different ways to keep their engagement and interest until the learning sticks! By donating to this project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus to important academic skills they need to progress in the general curriculum, you will ultimately help to increase their success in life! For example, the ice cream stand is a fun way to practice math, as well as life skills. A child is presented options to order ice cream from a fun menu, while another student fulfills the order. Play money is used to pay for what is ordered. Free play is an option, of course, and the teacher can also create different scenarios and focus as the children problem solve various narratives given by the teacher. New books to address social and behavioral needs, math games, vocabulary cards to sort and play language games with will all provide new ways to pre-teach, re-teach and practice skills in a fresh way. I am always looking for different ways to make learning fun. Children with ADHD and learning challenges need fun and engaging ways to learn. As a teacher, I need materials that can be used in different ways. Magnets, for example, can provide versatility to a variety of materials. Thank you for considering the needs of my students, as well as all students and teachers. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
