  • My First Year in High School!

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you so much for helping me with my donors choose project! It will help my students so much to learn and get the items they need to be successful. These items will also help my students get rewarded for their hard work and help them feel comfortable in my classroom! Thank you!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Graham

  • Students That NEED Creativity

    Funded Jan 26, 2022

I am so thankful for the money that was given to my classroom for my kids and their creativity. They have been so grateful. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to get more class supplies for my rooms and more rewards for my students.

The impact has been huge. One thing that I spent a lot of donors choose money on was classroom supplies. I have gotten more paper, glue sticks, scissors, coloring utensils, etc. It has made many of my lessons more engaging for student and them describing how they learn in their own way. These craft supplies help with that, as well as describing books in book reports.

Another big thing that I spent money on was more rewards for my students. I bought a rolling cart that could hold drinks, chips, stickers, candy (all donated from donors choose) These things are big incentives for my students to work hard and turn things in on time. I have started my own token economy in my classroom for students to be more successful and "buy" things they actually want for their good work!

Again, I am so happy and thankful for the donations and so are my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Graham

During this pandemic, students have been more stressed-out than ever. Going online and then going back to in-person, then continuing to flip back and forth and back has been extremely stressful for these students and teachers. Students have talked to me about their issues with doing a lot of their learning online and not having as many opportunities as they did when they were in in-person school. They have expressed that if they did have an online day or week they could have a different type of outlet to express their work rather than just online. I have taken their wants into consideration and have changed a lot of my curriculum to meet the needs of these students and to make their learning more creative and hands-on. Many of the items I chose for this grant has to deal with these students being able to be more creative since a lot of that has been taken away and replaced with online school and chrome books. I have decided to purchase many arts, crafts, and organizational items for my students. As previously stated, I have changed my curriculum for my students so that my students can work on more projects that relate to what we do. For example, I teach ELA, and I want my students to be more immersed in the books we read. One of the changes I have made in my curriculum is to have students create a book project by recreating a book they have read or a book we read in class. This project will have students create their own book cover which would include, pictures, drawings, magazine cut, glues, etc. I am thankful for this grant and hope to attain the needs that my students have.
