Students learn a variety of subjects including mathematics, science, and English language arts. Entrepreneur Based Learning is an opportunity for our students to apply different skill sets in a real world experience. Students will be able to take charge of a class business. They will participate in different roles such as accounting, marketing, product management, and health and sanitation to further develop the skills they are learning in class. We are taking academic concepts and shaping them into applied learning projects that can help students be engaged and accountable for their learning. Having a specific purpose in a class business gives each student responsibility that helps to model future career opportunities. Making ice cream is the product, but the project is student learning and development in real world applications. Through this project, students can learn how to apply mathematical concepts dealing with fractions, percentages, and statistics. Students will learn the science of chemical and physical states of change, health and proper sanitation. Social skill development will happen through project proposals and interviewing skills. English Language and Arts growth will occur through resume building and creation of posters and advertisements. One of the most important factors is helping the students learn how to work together and to find individual strengths that they have and can continue to enjoy developing beyond the classroom.
