  • Students + Videos = Future Movie Directors

    Once again I want to thank you for your support and generous donation not only to my classroom but to my school and most importantly the students at my school. It has been so much fun working with my students on creating fun videos to show to our school.

    The primary use for the digital video recorder/camera that was purchased was to create videos with our school's Junior High School Student Council members. They have been eager to put their skills to the test and work on engaging videos for the school to bring us together and cultivate a school bond.

    If I could I would love to include some of the "bloopers" that were created as this video was one of our first creations, please know that the students are working on how memorization and how to present in front of an audience. We hope to be able to compile a blooper reel for the end of the school year!”

The purpose of requesting the Panasonic Lumix camera is to facilitate a newly added Student Government class at our school. Elected by their peers, the student government members will be able to create wholesome, quality, and educational videos which will be posted on our school website, social media pages and viewed among the other classes in the school. Student government members will be able to develop and create content that will engage all students to have school pride and be proud to be part of the school. As student government members develop their skills in creating video content, not only through the presentation aspect but also in writing scripts and directing the videos, they will also be able to deepen their understanding of the many benefits of video technology and how it unites us all as a single student body. Which has the ability to guide them to a future career in the media or entertainment industry. I envision the student government creating weekly videos, interviews, and tutorials not just for students, but also for the parents of students, the community, and for future students. As we are still navigating through unprecedented times of the COVID-19 pandemic, the student government will be able to use this camera to create videos that can be shared and keep the entire student body connected, if our school must move to a virtual classroom again.
