The purpose of requesting the Panasonic Lumix camera is to facilitate a newly added Student Government class at our school. Elected by their peers, the student government members will be able to create wholesome, quality, and educational videos which will be posted on our school website, social media pages and viewed among the other classes in the school. Student government members will be able to develop and create content that will engage all students to have school pride and be proud to be part of the school. As student government members develop their skills in creating video content, not only through the presentation aspect but also in writing scripts and directing the videos, they will also be able to deepen their understanding of the many benefits of video technology and how it unites us all as a single student body. Which has the ability to guide them to a future career in the media or entertainment industry. I envision the student government creating weekly videos, interviews, and tutorials not just for students, but also for the parents of students, the community, and for future students. As we are still navigating through unprecedented times of the COVID-19 pandemic, the student government will be able to use this camera to create videos that can be shared and keep the entire student body connected, if our school must move to a virtual classroom again.
