  • Hands on Forensics and Chemistry

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

I am writing to express my gratitude for your generous donation to help fund projects for my classroom. Your support is invaluable and will significantly enhance the learning experiences of my students. With your contribution, we can now acquire essential tools such as a white board atomic model, a fiber test kit, and a hair analysis kit, which will provide hands-on, experiential learning opportunities. These resources will help my students grasp complex scientific concepts, develop critical thinking skills, and foster a passion for STEM fields. Your generosity has made a lasting impact on their educational journey, and for that, we are incredibly thankful.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Schoenfeld

  • Lab Smocks for Protection and Involvement!

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

Thank you so much! My students will now be able to more fully immerse themselves in labs. They will look the part of scientists. They won't have to worry about ruining their clothing or getting anything on them that they don't want. This will make a huge difference in our lab space. Thanks again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Schoenfeld

  • Hands On Science!

    Funded Jan 28, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity! This will be so beneficial for my students and it is an absolutely life changing gift for me. It would take me so long to accumulate the thing in this donation. My students will love having these new tools and activities for their class. Thank you so much.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Schoenfeld

All of the materials I have requested will be used as supplemental learning tools for my students. The model human skull will be used in my biology class for anatomical comparisons. I will also use the skull to help demonstrate some genetics and evolution concepts, as well as forensics. Most of the other materials I have requested will be specifically for my forensics class as a way to give students hands on and real world application of concepts that they have previously learned in biology and chemistry. The fingerprint analysis kit use some of the same tools that real life forensic scientists use, and this kit will last for a long time (as opposed to lab activities that are one time use only). The crime scene supply pack will enable students to complete "crime scene" investigations from scratch and will be a fun and engaging activity, as well as a good project and/or assessment tool for me. The hair analysis kit is similar to the fingerprinting kit in that it will last a long time and give students more real world and hands on experience. The blood typing poster will be a supplement to those students who never learned (or forgot) about blood types as they work through blood analysis. The scissors and tape will be classroom sets that allow students their own sets and won't have to share. This will help the projects in biology, chemistry, and forensics where students are creating posters, diagrams, charts or graphs that requires cutting be more efficient and participatory. The ethernet adaptor and cable are to be able to plug in directly to the internet rather than relying on the unreliable WiFi when showing educational clips to my students.
