Help support Mrs. Gasser's Classroom

With all of the change and uncertainty that COVID has created, I think it's essential that all of my students have consistent and engaging school experiences to look forward to each day. I try to integrate fun and meaningful activities into essential core content regularly. I'm requesting a variety of learning tools to facilitate 'magic moments' in my classroom. This includes science, math and social studies days throughout the year where the classroom is transformed into a fun and engaging, content specific learning environment. The resources that I'm requesting will support numerous content based activities that promote problem solving, collaborative learning, and essential life skills. I would like hands-on STEM activities and games such as a gravity maze, circuit board, science and chemistry sets and books, straw constructors and magnet kits to reinforce science curriculum and provide collaborative problem solving experiences for my students. My classroom will benefit from more sensory and fidget tools for our calming and focus kits. These support students when they are sad, anxious or having difficulty focusing in class. The small toys, trinkets and treats I'm asking for will be used as behavioral incentives. Students may purchase these from our class store after earning coins for good behavior. This also provides opportunities for students to practice counting and exchanging coins which is a second grade core math standard as well as an essential life skill. Finally, the noise cancelling headphones I'm requesting will allow students that are easily distracted to focus and complete their work when needed. This opportunity to receive a variety of learning tools for my class is much appreciated and will be used to facilitate numerous social-emotional and academic experiences for my students.
