At Fossil Ridge Intermediate we have a Wellness Room for students who are experiencing anxiety, sadness, or other emotions keeping them from learning in the classroom. They are given 10-15 minutes of time in the Wellness Room to do activities and then to return to class. Meditation can bring peace, calm, and joy back into a student's day, affecting not only their school performance but their home life as well. The Oculus Quest 2 has a mindfulness meditation program that would allow a student to learn and practice this important skill while at school. The program on meditation has different guided meditations on anxiety, depression, resilience, and more. This would be such a gift to the students in our school that struggle daily to get through their classes!
